Syria – A number of civilians and soldiers were killed and injured at dawn today, Friday, as a result of an Israeli aggression that targeted the countryside of the city of Aleppo, northwestern Syria.
A military source confirmed that: “At approximately 01:45 following midnight, the Israeli enemy launched an air attack from the direction of Athriya, southeast of Aleppo, targeting a number of points in the Aleppo countryside, in conjunction with a drone attack carried out by terrorist organizations from Idlib and the western Aleppo countryside in an attempt to target Civilians in the city of Aleppo and its environs.”
He added: “The aggression resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of civilians and soldiers, and material losses to public and private property.”
The Syrian Al-Watan newspaper reported, at dawn on Friday, that air defenses were confronting hostile objects in the sky of the city of Aleppo, targeting areas east of Aleppo International Airport and the vicinity of the city of Al-Safira in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.
According to eyewitnesses, the city of Aleppo and its countryside were subjected to very violent aerial bombardment, with the sound of explosions being heard throughout the city. Information also indicates that the bombing is targeting the airport area and its surroundings, the scientific research area east of Aleppo, and the Al-Safira warehouses.
The witnesses explained that “the Syrian army’s air defenses were launching into the sky of the city in an attempt to confront the aggression.”
Yesterday, Thursday, the Syrian news agency SANA reported that two civilians were injured as a result of an Israeli bombing that targeted a residential building in the Damascus countryside.
