In Upper Styria, a civil protection alert was declared on Wednesday evening due to heavy rain in the communities of Mautern, Traboch and Söll. In Traboch (Litzen district), the dam on Lake Traboch is in danger of bursting, according to the Styrian Warning Center. Massive flooding and landslides occurred in Mautern (Litsen district), according to the authority’s website. Flooding also occurred in Sear (Bruck an der Mur district) due to heavy rainfall.
Therefore, people in the three communities are asked to stay at home, go to higher rooms and avoid cellars and underground parking lots. It was also noted that temporary power outages are expected.
