A 43-year-old Serbian wanted to go on a training trip in the city of Salzburg with her 18-year-old daughter on Friday followingnoon. According to the police, the novice driver was supposed to drive the car backwards out of the garage, apparently confusing the gas and brake pedals. The car accelerated backwards. Meanwhile, according to the police report, the mother standing next to the vehicle tried to open the driver’s door to engage the electronic handbrake. Meanwhile, the daughter kept stepping on the gas pedal. The mother got under the vehicle door and was dragged a few meters. The car eventually collided with traffic signs and a concrete block before coming to a stop. The 43-year-old suffered abrasions on the right side of her body and was taken to the accident hospital by the Red Cross. The alcohol test was negative for both the mother and the daughter. Police said there was significant damage to the vehicle.
