The City of La Louvière via the socialist alderman of Louviérois education, Françoise Ghiot, decided to clarify her remarks via press release at the end of the followingnoon: “I would like to clearly inform you that the EVRAS activities, provided for by the decree of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation for 4th primary students, will be held during the 2023-2024 school year in all Louviéroise schools.“.
The alderwoman specifies: “I also met, with the school managements of all the networks and our current partners (PMS Centers and PSE services), the family planning services with whom we will be collaborating this year for EVRAS activities. However, taking into consideration organizational constraints (the prior meetings between the managements wishing to do so and the people who will give the activities, the already busy agenda of the establishments, the need to establish a schedule for these sessions as well as the number of establishments on the entity) will undoubtedly encourage us to hold part of these sessions following December 2023, but still during the current school year“.
This clarifies a certain media cacophony this Tuesday, September 19. The City therefore has absolutely no intention of deviating from the decree concerning EVRAS. The 2-hour session will be given during the 2023-2024 school year.
The city’s mayor Jacques Gobert, contacted by RTBF, already denied this morning the postponement of the EVRAS sessions to 2024. The mayor speaks more of a calendar problem. “The animations are maintained. However, for the sake of scheduling, these will be given later. We will take care of all these activities, obviously remaining attentive to what is happening outside.”
