On the way to becoming the most family-friendly city in Germany, the city of Hamm is now also honoring companies that support families. 47 companies initially applied for the award.

First application phase for companies in Hamm
Companies were able to participate free of charge by completing a written application form until the end of June. 47 companies have applied and are now being evaluated by a jury. The jury includes the city of Hamm, the Dortmund Chamber of Crafts and the Westphalia-Münsterland Trade Association, among others. The award ceremony will take place on October 28th by the IMPULS business agency. The award can be displayed and presented to the public for two years, comparable to the “Real Hammers” award. They have now 460 companies in Hamm.
More skilled workers thanks to award in Hamm
The “Family-Friendly Company” award is intended to attract more skilled workers to the Hamm business location. The long-term goal is to retain employees and increase job satisfaction in family-friendly companies. This includes, for example, flexible working hours, home office, deputization rules and childcare. This will promote new ideas for a better balance between family and work in the future. For the city, this is a further step on the Becoming the most family-friendly city in Germany.
