The Municipality tolerates a “qualitative” densification in Les Charmilles
A project provides for the construction of 450 new housing units in place of a villa zone. But a referendum should be launched by residents.

Is it still possible to support densification projects, moreover in place of one of the last villa areas in the city of Geneva? Called to decide on the localized neighborhood plan (PLQ) “Burgundy”, the City Council ruled in the affirmative. On Tuesday, elected officials gave the green light to the construction of 450 new housing units in an area located between the Place des Charmilles and the Parc des Franchises.
