City Council and ‘Márgenes y Vínculos’ collaborate on different cultural projects

The Deputy Mayor for Culture, Pilar Pintor, held a working meeting with the leading technician of the Project ‘A neighborhood for everyone’ of the Márgenes y Vínculos Foundation, Desiré Fernández Fernández, and a volunteer for this project, Bárbara Sanchez.

During this meeting, they talked about the various projects on which they work together, and new lines of collaboration for the future have been established, regarding the promotion of diversity and tolerance through cultural action.

Among other activities, two exhibitions by this group have been mentioned that in the coming months will be exhibited in municipal spaces of Algeciras, on the one hand ‘Traces of round trip’, in which 27 artists from Campo de Gibraltar invite us to reflect on migration as an essential part of the human experience, and recognizing the value of cultural exchange, and on the other the photographic exhibition ‘Impulso’ by Ghali Naoufal, a set of testimonies from migrant men and women who left their homeland to seek a life dignified in Algeciras, which seeks to promote intercultural coexistence and raise awareness in society against racism and intolerance.

Thus, Márgenes y Vínculos has been grateful for the good disposition shown by the Algeciras City Council with all the projects and activities that are launched.

For his part, Pintor has highlighted the work that the group chaired by Francisco Mena “works throughout the year through unity and cooperation with administrations, social entities, educational centers and neighborhood groups for integration, equality and justice in Algeciras society” and has assured that “from the different delegations of this City Council we will continue to support the initiatives promoted by Márgenes y Vínculos, as we have been doing until now, since Algeciras is a land of solidarity and hospitality.”
