As of the 1st of May, citizens of 29 countries will enter Mozambique without a visa, whether traveling for tourism or business. The need for registration 48 hours before leaving the country of origin will be temporarily suspended.

According to Daniel Nhamussua, national director for issuing immigration documents, the exemption goes to citizens of Canada, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Israel, Russia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Norway, Sweden , Netherlands, United Kingdom of Great Britain, South Korea, Cote d’Ivoire, Finland, Indonesia, Ireland, Singapore, Ghana, Republic of Senegal, Germany, France, Italy, China, Portugal and Ukraine.

As he made known, the choice of citizens from these countries is due to the fact that they are the ones who visit Mozambique the most. For example, from the 24th to the 28th of April, of the 1236 visa applications received, most were from citizens of the beneficiary countries.

“If a citizen of one of these countries decides to come to Mozambique, for tourism or business, for a period not exceeding 30 days, he has the right to enter without visas, and this decree was approved within the scope of economic acceleration measures,” said Nhamussua .

However, upon entry, citizens covered by the measure must pay a fee of 650 Meticais and present a passport or equivalent document valid for no less than six months.

They must also show a return and return flight ticket, for those traveling by air, and proof of accommodation.
