The accused, identified by Faro Coelho, was arrested upon execution of an arrest warrant issued by a Public Prosecutor’s Office magistrate, on the 22nd of the current month and year.
In the case, prepared by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the young woman is accused of having scammed more than 100 people, with false promises to provide clothes from Turkey.
According to the Spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police in Huíla, inspector Benedito Walter, the accused never delivered the goods she promised to her victims.
Inspector Benedito Walter also informed that the location and detention of the aforementioned citizen was only possible thanks to complaints made by the victims on social media and through the Fala Angola Program, broadcast by TV Zimbo.
“After several complaints on social media, TPA and TV Zimbo, which reported the actions carried out by the DIIP, DIIP carried out investigations that determined that it received monetary values from the victims with the aim of delivering clothing that would come from Turkey, but never delivered, always claiming that she had problems with customs and freight transport agencies”, he explained, adding that “given the seriousness of the facts, the DIIP opened the criminal process which culminated in her arrest under an arrest warrant”.
The spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police in Huíla added that the accused citizen confessed to the crime, and revealed during her interrogation that she needed at least six months to commit her actions.
