On Tuesday night, the National Police arrested, in the municipality of Caála, Huambo province, a national citizen accused of having killed a young woman, with whom he had a romantic relationship, ANGOP learned.
The victim, identified as Arleth Cardoso, aged 22, was murdered by her alleged boyfriend following a disagreement during Christmas dinner, specifically in the Catelenga Nova neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Caála.
The information was provided this Wednesday by the spokesperson for the Interior Delegation in the municipality of Caála, Evimbi Gomes, highlighting that it was a death due to mechanical asphyxiation.
He explained that, initially, the case was classified as the removal of a corpse, but following careful work with forensic experts from the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) it was concluded that it was a voluntary and qualified homicide, with the accused being 21 years old. deity.
According to Evimbi Gomes, the alleged murderer, referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, pleaded guilty at the time of arrest.
“He said he had committed the crime, at the victim’s residence, where he had gone, in order to ask for satisfaction regarding some debts she had contracted for which some people were charging him as her boyfriend and, following a disagreement, he started the attack, which ended in death, in the presence of her two-year-old daughter.”
This is the first homicide of this kind to occur in 2023 in the municipality of Caála, located in the western corridor of the province of Huambo.
