Cissé’s new recruits

In its preparation program for the 2022 World Cup, Senegal plays friendly Bolivia and Iran. Two matches scheduled for this month of September and which should record new faces, namely Ismail Jakobs, Nicolas Jackson and Moussa Niakhate.

Senegal will play two friendly matches once morest Bolivia on September 24 and Iran on September 27, respectively in France and Austria. Two meetings that are part of the preparation for the 2022 World Cup, in Qatar in November-December.

Inevitably, the next list of the coach, Aliou Cissé, is eagerly awaited in such a context where three months separate us from the start of the World Cup, scheduled for November 20. Only, there should not be too many major changes in the group which offered Senegal the first Can in its history.

Indeed, in this list which should include between 26 and 27 players, Le Quotidien has learned the arrival of some new faces.

Among these, we are talking regarding the left-back of As Monaco, Ismail Jakobs. The 23-year-old Senegalese-German, 1.84m tall, whose dream has always been to wear the national colors, is expected to appear on this list.

«In my opinion, Senegal is the best African team, it proved it by winning the last Can. Playing for this selection would be a great and great opportunity… If the coach of Senegal (Aliou Cissé) comes to see me, it will be a real subject, but for the moment, it is not one.“, had declared the teammate of Krépin Diatta, to Goal, taken up by Wiwsport.

Another name is put forward, it is that of Nicolas Jackson (21 years old). Announced for some time in the press, the Villarreal striker and former Casa Sports, who is in full swing, might also honor his first selection with the Lions.

We take almost the same…

Finally, Nottingham Forest defender Moussa Niakhate should also be on Cissé’s list. Affected in the hamstrings and absent from the lawns since mid-August, the former French international Espoirs (26 years old) and new teammate of Cheikhou Kouyaté had recently announced his choice to play for Senegal.

For the rest, the Senegalese technician should trust the same group which won the Can 2021 and which succeeded, in the process, to qualify for the World Cup a third time. A kind of continuity advocated by Aliou Cissé to maintain the backbone of the team and maintain a certain group dynamic.

The expected list for September 16

What regarding players who lack playing time? On this chapter, the coach will not depart from his principles, trusting the band to Abdou Diallo, Saliou Ciss, Bamba Dieng and others.

Moreover, “El Tactico” had adopted the same approach during the last Can, trusting players without competition. We know the rest, with Nampalys Mendy who was one of the best Senegalese in Cameroon.

Note that the publication of the list is expected for September 16, learned Le Quotidien.
