MEXICO CITY.- The journalist Ciro Gomez Leyva He challenged the head of the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office, Ulysses Larato put him in jail after he announced during his nightly newscast the operation in which they tried to arrest the former governor of Chihuahua, Javier Corral.
During his radio newscast on Grupo Fórmula, the journalist responded to what was saids of Ulises Lara, who said he will present a criminal complaint for the dissemination of the videos of the operation that “they specifically and opportunely leaked to a news presenter, along with the internal document of this Attorney General’s Office with which they attempted to deceive public opinion, making it look like the collaboration document with which the diligence was authorized.”
In response, Gómez Leyva questioned if the complaint will be against you or against the person who supposedly leaked the information.
“Are you going to file a complaint against the person you think leaked it or are you going to file it against me? And you are going to file a complaint against me and it will be a criminal complaint, but you are playing it safe. I don’t know if it’s fear, if it’s against me, I’ll tell you the prosecutor or the person in charge of the prosecutor’s office, cross my arms and tell me where I’m going to turn myself in. I’m going straight to the prison you tell me, I’m not going to waste a cent or a minute defending myself. What am I going to defend myself against, having given news, having given an article?”
He explained that they found out about the arrest operation because “an acquaintance our” I was in the restaurantalthough initially they did not believe him or take him seriously, but due to his insistence “we went to the source and asked for information, we began to report and as a result of that reporting we had one or several images.”

In this regard, the anti-corruption prosecutor of Chihuahua, Abelardo Valenzuela, accused the Attorney General of Justice of Mexico City of having rescued former governor Javier Corral “by force.” “They are obstructing justice, they rescued him by force, it is something unusual, inadmissible, incredible,” he said.
