Montreal Public Health is launching a campaign to encourage citizens to have their children vaccinated against traditional viruses such as polio and measles.
The organization notes that 80 to 85% of five-year-old Montrealers are adequately vaccinated against these contagious diseases.
However, a rate of 95% is considered necessary to achieve collective immunity.
On Louis Lacroix’s show, listen to Dr. Catherine Dea, medical chief of the youth sector at Montreal’s public health, who explains that the pandemic is partly responsible for this delay.
