Circulation of a trio of viruses: the influenza vaccine offered free to the entire population

After consultations with public health authorities, the Department of Health and Social Services is making free influenza vaccination available to all Quebecers who wish to take advantage of it, starting now.
Immunization expansion will be exceptional for this year and reassessed next year. This decision was made in the particular current context of the circulation of a trio of viruses and the heavy traffic in emergencies. The marked growth of influenza, the presence of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and the still significant presence of COVID-19, combined with the imminent arrival of the holiday season, justified expanding access to the vaccine once morest influenza.
Public health authorities reiterate that it remains crucial to encourage people at higher risk to protect themselves once morest influenza by getting their dose as soon as possible, namely: seniors over 60; all people with chronic diseases such as heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, immunosuppressed, etc.; pregnant women in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; people who live under the same roof as the previous people as well as informal caregivers.
The following groups are also encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible: families with children under 6 months and health care workers.
To register, simply go to Clic Santé and select the Influenza module. It should be noted that several pharmacies and private clinics will also offer influenza vaccination services and that walk-in services will also be available at certain locations. In addition, people who have already been vaccinated unfortunately cannot be reimbursed.
