Circular regarding admission of non-vaccinated persons in Kuwait has been amended

Department of Civil Aviation amends circular regarding admission of non-vaccinated persons in Kuwait. In a circular issued to airlines yesterday, the section on ‘Kuwaitis only’ was amended to ‘for all passengers’. The cabinet meeting last week decided to allow entry to those who have not been vaccinated as part of easing the Kovid restrictions. However, a circular issued by the DGCA to the airlines yesterday stated that the decision would only apply to nationals who have not been vaccinated.

The authorities corrected the remark within 24 hours, much to the dismay of the expatriates who were relieved by the cabinet decision. The DGCA today once more issued a circular to airlines announcing that in the paragraph on non-vaccination admissions in the circular issued on February 17, the word ‘Kuwaitis only’ was changed to ‘for all passengers’. The cabinet ruled that PCR certificates or home quarantine were not required if travelers coming to Kuwait had immune status. Those who have not been vaccinated or who have received vaccines such as Kovacin, which is not approved by Kuwait, will be able to enter Kuwait with a seven-day home quarantine if the PCR certificate taken within 72 hours of departure arrives in Kuwait. The new exemptions will take effect from Sunday.
