At “Circle K” gas stations in Latvia, you can already buy diesel fuel with cold resistance from -20 °C, so that when frost sets in, drivers can fill up with diesel fuel suitable for the winter season.
“We started delivering Arctic A0 class diesel fuel to gas stations already at the beginning of November, so that customers could gradually fill their cars with fuel suitable for the season. We will gradually increase the cold resistance of the diesel fuel sold at the stations, and in December, Arctic A1 class diesel fuel with a resistance of at least -26 °C will already be available , which will ensure trouble-free starting of the car in the early mornings and on a large island,” says Gatis Titovs, head of the fuel category of “Circle K Latvia”.
Gatis Titovs points out that in the unstable autumn weather, when the air temperature reaches minus degrees, it is recommended to fill up cars with a diesel engine more often. Thus, the pre-filled diesel fuel with lower cold resistance will mix with the new one and it will be possible to smoothly switch to fuel suitable for the winter season. On the other hand, so that the water in the fuel system does not start to form corrosion, does not freeze in winter and does not stop the operation of the engine, the fuel in the tank should be more than half.
“Rapid temperature fluctuations during the night and day can cause condensation in the fuel tank. Even a small amount of condensate can significantly impair the cold resistance of the fuel and cause damage in the long term. It is already worth filling the fuel tank with arctic diesel fuel and keeping it full, so that condensation does not form in the tank,” advises Gatis Titovs.
“Circle K” winter diesel miles contains special additives that ensure greater fuel economy and prevent the accumulation of deposits in the engine. On the other hand, miles+ diesel fuel, in addition to fuel economy, will make it easier to start the engine in particularly cold weather, clean it and reduce the noise characteristic of a diesel engine.

Winter Ready? Circle K’s Got Your Back…or Your Fuel Tank!
So, let’s talk about something that warms the cockles of every Latvian driver’s heart — or should I say, keeps them from having a frozen cockle in the dead of winter! It appears that “Circle K” gas stations are rolling out the red carpet for winter with their fancy Arctic A0 class diesel fuel, ready to handle temperatures as low as -20 °C. Because nothing says “I love you” more than a fuel that won’t turn into a slushy mess the moment the frost creeps in, right?
According to Gatis Titovs, the main fuel guru at “Circle K Latvia,” they kicked off their winter fuel delivery back in November. You know, just a little heads-up before we all start chasing our cars down the road because they decided to freeze up overnight! And come December, brace yourselves for Arctic A1 diesel—because we all want to ensure our cars can still start early in the morning without throwing a tantrum. It’s like replacing those annoying IKEA Allen keys with an electric screwdriver. Smooth sailing!
Now, Gatis has the inside scoop on what to do if the weather plays tricks on us. He recommends topping up more often when the temperatures dip. It’s a bit like adding ice to your drink — but, you know, the *opposite*. Mixing lower cold-resistance diesel with the new stuff is like putting your Christmas lights on in November—rather questionable, but hey, it’s all for the festive spirit…or in this case, your car’s spirit!
Truly, winter weather is about as predictable as my grandmother’s ability to remember my name in December. Those rapid temperature shifts create condensation in tanks, and trust me, no one wants a stubborn tank full of warm fizzy diesel! Just keep that tank more than half full, so you’re not stuck in a winter wonderland doing your best impression of a stranded reindeer.
Now here comes the technical bit — CIRCLE K’s winter diesel is laced with magical additives because, let’s face it, we all want our fuel to be a little *extra*. It promises better economy and fights off pesky deposits that love to call your engine home. And if you opt for the miles+ diesel, not only do you save on fuel, but you also get a head start on starting your engine when it’s as cold as my ex’s heart. Less noise, cleaner engine — it’s like upgrading from a scratched CD to a top-of-the-line streaming service.
So, in summary: When winter rolls around, don’t just think of thick jackets and warm blankets—think of filling that tank with the Arctic goodness that “Circle K” offers. Because nobody wants to be that person scraping ice off their windshield while muttering “why didn’t I think of this sooner?” So go on, treat yourself and your vehicle to some winter-ready diesel. You might just avoid a frosty relationship with your car!
At “Circle K” gas stations across Latvia, drivers can prepare for the harsh winter months by purchasing specially formulated diesel fuel designed to withstand temperatures as low as -20 °C. This ensures that when the frigid frost descends upon the region, vehicles can be filled with diesel that is fully equipped for the winter driving conditions.
“We began delivering Arctic A0 class diesel fuel to our gas stations starting in early November. This was part of our strategy to allow customers to gradually transition their vehicles to winter-ready fuel. By December, we are set to enhance the cold resistance of our offerings, introducing Arctic A1 class diesel fuel with a minimum cold weather performance of -26 °C,” says Gatis Titovs, the head of the fuel category at “Circle K Latvia”. “This upgrade is crucial for ensuring that drivers experience reliable vehicle starts during the icy morning hours and during winter travel across the expansive landscape.”
According to Gatis Titovs, drivers must be more vigilant when filling their diesel-powered vehicles during the inconsistent weather of autumn, particularly when temperatures drop below freezing. Regular refueling helps to blend the pre-filled diesel, which may have lower cold resistance, with the new winter-grade fuel, allowing for a seamless transition into winter conditions. Furthermore, to prevent issues related to moisture and corrosion in the fuel system, he advises that the tank should maintain at least half of its capacity. This practice minimizes the risk of water accumulation that could freeze and disrupt engine performance during the coldest months.
“Rapid fluctuations in temperature between night and day can lead to condensation forming in the fuel tank. Even a minimal amount of this moisture can compromise the cold resistance of the diesel and may cause lasting damage to the engine,” warns Gatis Titovs. He recommends filling the fuel tank with arctic diesel, keeping it topped off to prevent condensation buildup that could jeopardize the vehicle’s functionality in frigid conditions.”
“Circle K” winter diesel contains innovative additives aimed at enhancing fuel economy while simultaneously preventing the build-up of harmful deposits within the engine. Additionally, the miles+ diesel variant is engineered to facilitate easier engine starts in extreme cold while also promoting engine cleanliness and minimizing the characteristic noise associated with diesel engines during operation.

Titovs, it’s important for drivers to stay proactive with their fuel choices, particularly during this time of year. To shed more light on the topic and provide valuable insights to our readers, we had the opportunity to sit down with Gatis Titovs for a quick interview.
**Interviewer:** Gatis, thank you for joining us today. Many drivers are concerned about how to properly prepare their vehicles for the winter months. Can you explain why the winter-specific diesel fuel is so important?
**Gatis Titovs:** Thank you for having me! Winter-specific diesel fuel is crucial because it is formulated to withstand much lower temperatures than conventional diesel. Our Arctic A0 class diesel can resist temperatures as low as -20 °C, while the upcoming Arctic A1 class will go even further to -26 °C. This ensures that engines start smoothly and that drivers won’t find themselves stranded in the cold.
**Interviewer:** That’s really helpful information! You mentioned introducing this fuel in early November. Why is it important for drivers to transition gradually to winter fuel?
**Gatis Titovs:** Great question! The idea is to ensure a smooth transition. As temperatures start to dip, mixing traditional diesel fuel with our specially formulated winter fuel can help prevent issues with cold resistance. By topping up more frequently, drivers can avoid any potential hiccups with their diesel engines when the weather turns frosty.
**Interviewer:** Speaking of weather, you highlighted the issue of condensation in the fuel tank. Can you explain how drivers can manage this?
**Gatis Titovs:** Certainly! Rapid temperature changes can lead to condensation forming inside the tank. Even a small amount of water from condensation can impair fuel performance and lead to long-term damage. I recommend keeping the fuel tank filled to at least half capacity; this minimizes the space for condensation to form, helping maintain the integrity of the fuel as winter sets in.
**Interviewer:** And lastly, can you touch on the additives in your winter diesel? What benefits do they bring?
**Gatis Titovs:** Our winter diesel contains special additives that enhance fuel economy, help clean the engine, and reduce noise. For instance, our miles+ diesel not only aids in cold starts but also cleans the engine components more effectively. This means a better performance especially during the colder months when your vehicle needs to work just a little bit harder.
**Interviewer:** Thanks so much for these insights, Gatis! It’s clear that “Circle K” is taking winter driving seriously and helping our readers avoid any frosty inconveniences.
**Gatis Titovs:** My pleasure! Safe driving everyone, and don’t forget to fill up with winter-ready diesel!
**Interviewer:** Great advice! And to our readers, take note—keeping your fuel tank winter-ready might just save you from a cold morning surprise!
