Cinnamon swirls back in Linz from autumn

Queues stretching out onto the street, display cases cleared early in the followingnoon and production at full speed: even Gerhard Winkler was surprised that his cinnamon rolls would be so popular. Although the great hype has leveled off to a certain level over time, demand is still far higher than what was originally assumed. On Saturday, the cinnamon whirlwind will be over for the time being, because then the Winkler bakery will close its pop-up store on the Mozart intersection as planned.

In the fall it continues to whirl

But a comeback seems certain. Due to its great success, Winkler is currently looking for new locations. “It almost makes sense to continue this,” he says in an OÖN interview. Cinnamon rolls might then be available not only in the city center, but also in other parts of Linz. It should be ready in the fall, but Winkler doesn’t want to reveal anything more yet. Little will change in the concept, but it is quite possible that more varieties will be added to the eight.
