The Culture and Cinema Lisloise association, chaired by Pascal Le Vaillant, sponsors the Cinéma dans les coteaux festival which took place from July 15 to August 9 in 20 villages neighboring L’Isle-en-Dodon. It was in Cadeillan, a town administered by the filmmaker Denys Granier-Deferre, honorary president of the festival, that the last session took place. While 150 guests enjoyed a paella on the esplanade of the town hall and between two performances by the duo Lena Vassiliu, the podium welcomed an assembly of personalities presented by Patrick Goulesque, president of the festival committee. With the cultural delegate of the town hall of L’Isle-en-Dodon Jeannette Bergounan, Pascal Le Vaillant was delighted with the welcome received everywhere. The festival brought together a total of 1,800 spectators. A project has been announced: the cinema will go out to meet village halls wishing to do so during the autumn and winter. Much applauded, Denys Granier-Deferre also spoke. He recalled how he arrived at Cadeillan thanks to his friend Tom Stern: “The school is for sale”, he had told him, of whom he recalled: “Tom created the atmosphere of films in the USA, he has the modesty grown-ups, he’s an artist”. The filmmaker, who came to join them on the stage, declared: “There is no better place to live than our village of Cadeillan”. The hope prize was awarded to Cazac (31) who will open the 2024 festival and the loyalty prize to Villefranche-d’Astarac by drawing lots. The region, the county council 31 and the town hall of L’Isle-en-Dodon were mentioned in the thanks.
