The Cincinnati Bengals have had what are arguably the two most successful seasons in their franchise history.
A key reason for this: quarterback Joe Burrow. The quarterback, who will be entering his fourth year, has been available for renewal since this offseason. The Bengals have already confirmed talks – but announced no rush.
Burrow extension: “Hope we can get something going”
At the NFL’s annual NFL owners’ meeting in Phoenix, Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn spoke regarding Burrow’s upcoming contract and put the brakes on expectations. “Of course we think regarding it too,” she explained.
“But it was free agency that we had to deal with first,” Blackburn continued. “We think we’ll be able to go a little deeper into the negotiations soon.”
However, she might not or did not want to give a timetable. “We can’t set a tempo or anything like that. We won’t talk regarding something if there’s nothing to talk regarding,” announced the Bengals official.
In addition to Burrow, high-priced extensions are also up for grabs for Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers, Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins and Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles.
