Five of the six officers of the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Corps (Cicpc) who were arrested for the murder of a young man in the state of Sucre received prison sentences by the court handling the case.

They were also charged with the crimes of qualified homicide with treachery and futile motives, improper use of an organic weapon and simulation of a punishable act.
These officials were eating in a restaurant in Carúpano when they shot a young man, identified as Daniel Alejandro Lezama, 22 years old, who was sitting at the next table.
