Reverol announced this Saturday that a transformer at the Panamericana substation in Caracas was hit by a bullet.

Néstor Reverol, Minister of Electric Power, reported this Saturday that detectives from the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Corps (Cicpc) are carrying out the corresponding inquiries to find those responsible for a “new attack on the electrical system.”

This following a blackout that occurred in Caracas this Friday night. The official indicated that the transformer was shot and therefore the explosion occurred that affected the service in the capital of the Republic. All this in the Panamericana substation.

He pointed out that at first they thought it was a fault due to “equipment fatigue”, but that following checking they realized that it had a bullet impact.

“We are in the presence of a vile and brutal act of sabotage of the national electrical system. We are taking all actions to guarantee the security of the station,” added Reverol in a contact with Venezolana de Televisión.

Already on Friday night he had said that it was a new attack on the electrical system. He insisted this Saturday that “the electric war once morest the people of Venezuela continues.”
