With an auditorium full of young people and an emotional tribute to the Head of Neurology of the Hospital Civil de Guadalajara (HCG), The Cycle of Medical Conferences started (CICOM), Aimed at medical residents.
More than 3 thousand residents will attend this program with more than 250 presentations related to the avant-garde training of doctors, which They will take place from this Wednesday to Friday, in both HCG units and in the University Center for Health Sciences.
During the inauguration of CICOM, Dr. Hugo Ceja was recognized, with more than 30 years of service to medicine, remembered with a profile that recounted his beginnings as a resident, until his most recent days, a few months following retiring, following having founded and chaired the Pediatric Neurology Service in the former HCG.
“The way I got ahead was to say ‘this is my house,’ and Fray Antonio Alcalde is my house. Thinking regarding when I will leave it in a few more months hurts me a little,” said Dr. Ceja, his voice between cut by emotion.
For its part, the general director of HCGJaime Andrade Villanueva, boasted the inauguration of three auditoriums within the framework of CICOMas well as having a thousand residents in the organization he directs.
“CICOM will continue to play a vital role in the training of health professionals,” declared Andrade Villanueva.
One of the central themes of CICOMproposed by the residents themselves, was the mental health of medical staff, in fact one of the three keynote conferences addresses this topic.
