Léa Fortin, press secretary for Minister Sonia Bélanger, said the standards set by Quebec “have not yet been achieved.” The Ministry requires CHSLD Argyle to respect standards and maintain adequate service levels. “The current administration has failed to meet and maintain a variety of expected standards,” read a press release issued Tuesday.

Ms. Fortin reported a “lack of basic hygiene” and a “lack of courtesy and communication” by CHSLD staff.

This department provides support to CHSLD in implementing its standards. “It’s no use,” the press officer said. She stressed that the measures taken by the accommodation centers were “not sustainable”. Minister Sonia Bélanger described the situation as “worrying”.

The CHSLD facilities in Saint-Lambert and Longueuil will be managed by the integrated health and social services centers of Monteregi East and Monteregi Centre.

The Pointe-Claire facility will be managed by the Center for Health and Social Services of the Université de Montréal.

The CHSLD will be administered by the Province of Quebec for 180 days, but this period can be extended. Ms Fortin said the ministry would intervene when it judged “residents’ needs are not being met”.

2021, Responsibilities Published an inquiry into the establishment of CHSLD Argyle in St Lambert. The daily revealed residents, relatives and staff were observing “recurring” sanitation and hygiene issues.

“The government will not compromise on the health, safety and welfare of users […] Interim management is an effective measure that can help us solve problems. We will closely monitor the efforts undertaken in the coming months,” the minister said in a press release.

From 2022, interim management of unapproved CHSLDs is possible.
