Christophe Galtier reveals the two reasons for the elimination against Bayern

Once once more, Paris Saint-Germain will stop in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Beaten by Bayern Munich on the outward and return legs, the club from the French capital thus experienced a new disappointment at this stage of the competition, following Real Madrid the previous edition.

At the microphone of Canal +, Christophe Galtier returned to the defeat. For the French technician, the lack of efficiency and the numerous injuries recorded are the basis of the Parisian elimination.

“We didn’t know how to score on our highlights. We had a good first period where we had situations. We managed to compete well, we had some highlights. But in the second half we take this really stupid goal, at this level we must have more lucidity. Obviously we were under pressure from Bayern, we knew that. You shouldn’t be ashamed of playing long to break this pressure. After an hour, when you are behind, it starts to be difficult. I don’t know if it’s a lesson to be learned, but it’s a disappointment, a frustration. If we had opened the scoring, the match would have been different,” the French technician first said of the lack of efficiency.

Before discussing the injuries, which according to him, did not make it easier for the reigning French champion, “the difference with Bayern? Workforce availability. We had a lot of important absentees in the first game, a lot of important absentees in the second game. We had to change central defenders, obviously that weakened us. (…) We cannot redo this double confrontation, we must look ahead now.”
