Christoph Koschel and Adrienne Lyle are the winners at the start of another dressage weekend in Welltington, Florida.
Christoph Koschel and Dünensee v. Dancers were the only ones in the Wellington CDI4* Grand Prix to get over 70 percent. “He wanted to piaffe the whole time, but unfortunately didn’t want to pass, that wasn’t so good,” Koschel summed up followingwards. The 13-year-old Hanoverian is for sale, but how quickly this will happen remains to be seen, says the law graduate. In this test, which was the qualification for the Grand Prix Special, the German duo got a 70.609. Owner is Devon Kane from Diamante Farms in Florida. Untypical for Florida, the ridden was under one roof. A storm over the tournament grounds prevented riding in the open air arena.
In the Grand Prix preceding the freestyle, Olympian Adrienne Lyle was unbeatable with Salvino, a son of Sandro Hit. The 78.566 percent was a seven percent lead over second-place finisher, Canadian Olympic rider Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu and All in (71.5). Lyle says Savino is now very consistent and is pleased that the now 15-year-old can now balance in the extended trot. “Now I can let him off the leash at a strong trot and ride full throttle.”
Third place went to the Swede Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén with the Holsteiner Devanto and 71.261 percent, followed by Sarah Tubman and First Apple v. Vivaldi. The couple came up with 70.587 percent.
