After the first world premiere of Maestro on Netflix, Christoforos Papakaliatis announced that he does not intend to continue making television, but wants to create in cinema.
The thought of returning to television was closed. This changed due to covid, because I was preparing the film I was going to make. And while everything was ready, the pandemic came, the cinema was closed and I was waiting for all this to pass before we could start” he first mentioned about his plans and then explained: “Because it was delayed, I had Maestro and I thought of making it a mini-series because they asked me to do something in Greece”.
He then emphasized saying: “One of the reasons I put Paxos in is to be more protected from the pandemic. Writing it, I saw how interesting these heroes are script-wise. I fell right in and the actors really stepped it up.”
