“The initial examination revealed a cut on the calf. Subsequent examinations ruled out a fracture or other physical problem,” the association wrote on its homepage.
Christof Innerhofer was examined in the Sondalo hospital. The wound on his calf will be stitched up as soon as possible, following which Innerhofer can return home.
After the fall on the slopes in Bormio, the 39-year-old initially got up, but still had to be flown to the hospital by helicopter.
If the injury there had turned out to be a serious injury, in the worst case scenario the veteran would have been threatened with the end of his career.

But Innerhofer was still lucky in misfortune. A few hours following the accident on the slopes, the ski star posted two photos from the hospital on Instagram. “It’s a shame regarding today, as you can see in the second photo, I’m already sewn,” wrote Innerhofer.
The South Tyrolean’s fall was not the only incident at the Bormio speed races. During the descent the day before the Super-G, the Austrian Marco Schwarz fell violently and, among other things, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
