Known for their amazing chemistry on screen and in private life, couple Hasan Ahmed and Sunita Marshall appeared as guests on a podcast, where they opened up regarding their interfaith marriage, which has been harmonious. A picture is presented which is very impressive.

Hasan said, Sunita is happy to decorate the tree, and I have no problem with it. While Sunita is with us on the occasion of Eid and we all celebrate a very good Eid together, family members also come here.

Sunita added, ‘Usually on the occasion of Eid, all the families come together, congratulate and eat together. Christmas is the same. This is our Eid. Unfortunately, the only family I have here are my two uncles. The rest of my family lives in England, including my parents and my brother. So when it’s Christmas or Easter, we just have dinner at my uncle’s house.

When the conversation turned to the inevitable criticisms of being a high-profile interfaith couple in such a society. Hasan’s reply was, if you ask me how I deal with such people? I no longer just ‘handle’ them.

He added, “I don’t care what they think because such people will stick to their ideas throughout their lives. So I don’t care what they say regarding how I’m living my life, that I’m married to a Christian woman and how it affects my children.

However, Sunita was quick to intervene and highlighted the support her husband received from his family. “I would like to say that Hassan’s entire family respects me a lot. I don’t feel like any of them are Christians on Eid, they treat me the same way they treat Hasan.

Hasan said, “It is very important for me that everyone respects my wife, my children and my parents. Even with my work colleagues … In today’s society, it is very important to understand that there is nothing more important than self-respect. If you are being disrespected in any form, you should distance yourself from them. Don’t let such people get close to you.
