Frederick alleged that Hebb began assaulting him so he stabbed him in the stomach.

Police said the two men were longtime friends and were the only ones present at the home when the incident occurred. Investigators are unsure what led up to the incident.

When officers arrived, they said they found Hebb lying on the floor with a deep laceration to his abdominal area. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition where he was stabilized and flown to a Pittsburgh area hospital.

Hebb is currently listed in critical but stable condition.

Police said Frederick was charged with malicious wounding. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
