The voices of the Méli-Mélo choir have been silent since their last concert, on October 22, but they were not silent. Indeed, it is within the church of Saint-Just that on Sunday December 17 at 6 p.m. the formation of around thirty choristers will warm the ears of the audience and take them into the heart of winter. This concert, under the direction of Lou Sedano, will welcome at the piano a distinguished guest in the person of Benjamin Thiébault, holder of a double degree in classical piano and jazz and improvised music, and music professor at the Institute of Musical Culture since 2021.
Under the theme “A choir in winter”, the choristers will perform a repertoire specially adapted to the place and the period. In addition to the essential Ave Maria by Caccini, Ave verum corpus by Mozart, traditional Christmas carols such as Silent Night by Joseph Mohr and Franz-Xaver Gruber and Ring in Christmas will be on the menu. All sprinkled with songs from yesterday and today, from France and elsewhere around the famous Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen or Le plat pays by Jacques Brel to name but a few.
Sunday December 17 at 6 p.m. Church of Saint-Just. Free entry, free participation. Contact 06 81 66 63 56 or 06 76 33 77 05.
