Pavlos Christidis, Member of Parliament for the Southern Sector, spoke regarding the internal party election process of PASOK, stressing the need for each candidate to submit a specific political framework for the reconstruction, strengthening and expansion of the party and how this will contribute to the development path of the country.
“It is very important that all those who will participate have arguments that will inspire people and provide solutions to citizens’ problems. I see with great interest that the world outside has real anxiety regarding where things will go. I hope that everyone, with their own role and what they say, will contribute to the unity and perspective of the faction,” he said, speaking to the Action 24 television station.
He also noted that there are many parliamentarians and members of the Central Committee who are waiting with great interest for this process to open in order to be able to evaluate each person and added that he himself will position himself on political terms when the time is right.
“Their citizens are concerned regarding what is happening, at this moment, on our northern border, what is happening with Turkey, with the economy, the dirty money. It concerns them when they see firefighters sleeping in the fields following some firefighting. For all this we are waiting for their proposals”, he added.
Pavlos Christidis estimated that it should have preceded the electoral process, a political process in which PASOK would define its identity and personality. “Now what are we? Who are we addressing? Who do we want to inspire? To change everything ourselves to become more attractive. And once we have demarcated politically, ideologically, value-wise and organizationally, we must extend an invitation to everyone, institutionally, to all political parties, all social bodies and all self-governing forces,” he said characteristically. He concluded by saying that it is very important, in addition to the large participation that the party needs in the polls, to manage to make these people stay in the party.
