Christian Tybring-Gjedde kicked out of the Frp

The party writes in one melding that the expulsion is linked to Tybring-Gjedde’s statements regarding the party and party colleagues in connection with the nomination process in Oslo Frp.

– This is not the first time we have dealt with statements from Tybring-Gjedde. It is Oslo Frp that has requested the assessment. He has repeatedly, even following a formal warning from the organizing committee in 2021, not respected democratic processes and party decisions, says leader Anni Skogman of the organizing committee

– It has therefore been established that we do not trust him to represent the Progress Party.

NTB tried to get a comment from Tybring-Gjedde on Sunday evening, which has not yet been available.

“Party political corruption”

Tybring-Gjedde came out hard once morest the Oslo Frp’s nomination committee in June when they proposed Tor Mikkel Wara and Simen Velle as top of the list for next year’s general election.

“The recommendation from the nomination committee is a work of commission and party political corruption,” he added TV 2.

The nomination committee’s chairman Arve Lønnum then replied that such claims do not belong in a party nor in the media.

Received warning

It is not the first time the controversial politician has received criticism from his own party.

In October 2021, Tybring-Gjedde received a warning from the party’s organizational committee following offering a woman with a hijab a thousand pounds if she took it off. The organizational committee believed, among other things, that he had then acted in a way that contributed to damaging the reputation of the party or party members.

The party believes that Tybring-Gjedde, even following this warning, has repeatedly broken the party’s guidelines.

– After an overall assessment, we have therefore chosen to say that now is enough, enough. Undocumented claims of “party political corruption” are completely unacceptable, Skogman states.

Get involved in politics

Tybring-Gjedde has represented the Oslo Frp in the Storting since 2005, but in April the 60-year-old announced that he do not want to continue when his last parliamentary term expires in 2025.

He has also previously been leader of Oslo Frp from 2010 to 2014.

His daughter, Mathilde Tybring-Gjedde, represents the Conservative Party in the Storting.
