The leader died on January 3 following a long illness. A tribute will be paid to his memory during a ceremony which will take place on Wednesday January 10, at 2 p.m., at the Immaculée Conception Church in Caluire-et-Cuire. Burial will then take place in the Caluire cemetery.

A pillar of the sports movement in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, Christian Levarlet constantly campaigned for the development of sport and sports practice in his territory.
