Christian Cueva was introduced as a new Alianza Lima player. During the press conference, the 31-year-old midfielder confessed that he was happy to fulfill his dream of returning to the club of which he is a fan.
“I had offers, but I always prioritized my Alianza Lima and I am achieving it at a great moment in my career. I thank everyone, including Nicolás Rey, José Bellina and Diego Gonzales Posada, who trusted me and helped make this a reality,” said Christian Cueva.
“I am happy that Alianza made the effort to count on me and I really wanted to be here,” he added.
Regarding his goals with the intimate club, Christian Cueva assured that he is determined to show his best version and confessed that his goals are to seek the three-time championship and fight in the Libertadores.
“Christian Cueva himself comes here who wants to play soccer, the years go by and obviously one matures. I come to Alianza with the purpose of seeking the three-time championship and fighting in the Libertadores. To play football you need to be happy and I am”, said the midfielder who will take the number 23 shirt.

Through his Instagram account, Christian Cueva shared an emotional message that moved the fans of Alianza Lima. The midfielder assured that he returns to Matute to fulfill the promise he made after leaving the club in 2015.
“I have been a fan of Alianza Lima since before I was born. When I left in 2015, I promised myself to return as a better professional and person, who can help the club achieve great things nationally and internationally. And my ambition now is to fulfill that dream ”, reads the message that Christian Cueva shared on his Instagram account.
“I am sure that with a lot of effort, commitment, work and heart we will continue making Alianza Lima the biggest club in Peru. Being in the Alliance is a different passion. Up Alliance ”, he concluded.
