The Montreal Canadiens’ training camp began yesterday with the physical tests. The guys took to the ice today and we had the opportunity to hear some players’ comments. Chris Wideman is notably part of the group.
The defender seems to be fit and morally he seems to be in good spirits. But that’s it, Chris Wideman. The guy looks happy all the time and often has a smirk on his face, which we were able to appreciate once once more this morning.
The defender confessed to having had a great summer and… surprised many by claiming that he lived in Cole Caufield’s guest room while waiting to find a place to stay with his wife and child. nine months.
It’s been hard for him to find a home this summer due to the rising real estate market, but seems to have had fun with Caufield:
“I was able to take advantage of it to take care of my kid “, he said jokingly to the journalists present on the spot, obviously speaking of the 21-year-old player.
Funny, this Chris Wideman!

It’s good for the morale of the guys, though. The relationship between the two players seems to be great and that’s what you usually want to see from a veteran like Wideman.
That’s why I like him, Chris Wideman. He seems to be liked by his teammates and brings a nice vibe to the dressing room.
It’s rare, however, to see an older player residing with a youngster who will be in his second full year in the NHL. But if the formula works, then why not!
Seeing Caufield so established in town is a good thing, by the way. It’s a good sign for the future!

– Not surprising. LOL!
#Habs Gallagher already has a nick on the bridge of his nose on Day One of camp. His plausible (?) explanation: He wasn’t wrestling with Wideman. “I went to give him a hug and he punched me in the face.”

Evgeni Malkin on re-signing with the Penguins and staying in Pittsburgh: “It’s my second hometown, for sure. I don’t want to move to any team, any city. I’m glad to stay here. It’s amazing. Four more years.”

Memories of a Warrior | As much as the one “who ate the bands” once morest the Boston Bruins did not like facing the ex-number 33, as much as he will have known him during his only season in Massachusetts.

Confirmed: @rogerfederer will play doubles with @Rafael Nadal Friday night in London for the last game of his career. Wonder what arguments he used to convince his captain of the European team. #LaverCup2022
