Art critic Tariq El-Shennawy confirmed that the reason for his apology for participating in the referendum of the top 100 comedy films is because the mechanisms established are unfair, noting that he requested some details from the referendum committee to participate comfortably, but it was not implemented, so he decided not to participate due to the absence of some selection mechanisms.

Critic Tariq El-Shennawy explained, in a telephone interview with the “Cairo Talk” program, with the media, Khairy Ramadan and Karima Awad, on Al-Qahera Wal-Nas channel, that the festival in which this referendum participated is international, not local, to select only 100 Arab films, saying: “I felt that there was nothing wrong with that.” I agree with it and I feel uncomfortable.”

Critic Tariq El-Shennawy pointed out that the clear mistake in the referendum to choose the 100 best comedy films was choosing Fawzia the bourgeoisie, continuing: “This film is a television, not a cinema, and it was in a hurry, and the films that won and in choices were not successful due to the lack of clarity of criteria.”

In response to the reason for the absence of any film by Mohamed Sobhi, he said: “Mohamed Sobhi is a theater artist of the first degree, but his cinematic presence is not the same glare, and he has been absent from cinema for regarding 30 years, and his genes are theatrical, and his absence in the evaluation of the best films is not a terrible transgression.” .
