Bonjour,
I have 2 Boston terriers, they are generally less sensitive to heat than BFs indeed, you still have to be careful to choose a breeding that does not make hypertypes. For example, mine have 2 cm of nose, they are not completely flattened. As for the 15km hikes, going gradually no problem, here we easily chain the 12km-15km on Saturday and Sunday, the rest of the week, we do between 4 and 6km per day, with canine walks by weeks (2:3), they are very dynamic dogs, they move really a lot, play etc. but it really is a great breed.
In terms of loneliness, they generally stay alone for 4 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the followingnoon with a break of 1h30 between, they have already done exceptionally 8 hours alone without worries.
On the other hand, it is true that loneliness is a real point to work on gradually because it remains a dog that can have a little trouble.

I just want to come back to the pug, personally I have in my entourage 1 pug in particular who has the same rhythm as my dogs, so it remains possible.
In the end the real danger is the heat but like any dog, we walk in the cool in the morning or in the evening and it passes
