Choir Academy St. Florian 2023: BECOME PART OF THE ST. FLORIAN BRUCKNER DAYS 2023!

Dear singers, dear choir enthusiasts!
We can finally organize a choir academy once more as part of the St. Florian Bruckner Days. Since 2012, some of Bruckner’s great works have been performed in the monastery basilica, each with around 80 singers.
In our 2023 festival, we will have Bruckner’s most extensive psalm setting, Psalm 146, in the program together with the Altomonte Orchestra under the direction of our “conductor in residence”, Rémy Ballot. Most of this work was created during his time in Florian and was completed in Linz in 1856 and 1858. The special feature of this cantata-like composition is the double choir system, which is why we are allowed to work with two experienced choir teachers “ob” and “lower” the Enns: Edgar Wolf, who has already led several choir academies at the Bruckner Days and the Regens Chori of the St. Florian, Martin Zeller, who also works as a choir director at the Linz Music Theater. In the course of this concert, Bruckner’s “0th” symphony will also be played.
We would all be very happy if this choral work might be heard over the master’s grave with numerous enthusiastic singers.
With musical greetings, Matthias Giesen
