At the personnel hearing of the National Assembly’s Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, Food, Marine and Fisheries Committee on the same day, candidate Cho answered, “Is it necessary to introduce a multi-loan system through the revision of the Government Organization Act?” In order to respond to the demand for advanced aquaculture and fishery policies, it is necessary to establish (multiple loans).”

He added, “I think we should receive more budget and make policy proposals in a larger frame.”

In response to Ahn Byung-gil’s argument that the nation’s power to create a maritime policy organization under the president or prime minister like the United States and Japan, he agreed, saying, “It is also helpful to have such a committee for the redevelopment of Busan Port and the hosting of the 2030 Busan World Expo.”

Regarding the so-called ‘Happy’ (Mafia + Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries) controversy that arose during the first phase of redevelopment of Busan North Port, candidate Cho said, “I will take a good look at it.” I have to,” he replied.

“The fishermen in the fishery industry say that the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries should be abolished,” said Rep. Witong-gon of the Democratic Party, who acted as deputy chairman of the Agricultural and Maritime Affairs Committee.

He continued, “There is talk that the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries should be transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.”

Candidate Cho, who mainly dealt with the shipping sector in public office, said, “I feel regretful regarding my lack of work experience in the fishery sector. I am confident regarding it,” he said.

He also promised, “I will go to the field more than 100 days a year.”

On the other hand, following leaving office, candidate Cho admitted that it was an inappropriate act, saying, “I had a short thought” regarding the controversy over the ‘free office preference’ during his time as an administrator.

Candidate Cho signed a contract to use the office building in Yeonje-gu, Busan free of charge for two years following resigning as the director of the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology.

However, as it became known that Signature, a law firm with a high school junior as a lawyer, was known to be the owner of the office, a controversy arose over the public service.
