‘Ching-ching bandages on the knee’ Van de Beek, it’s so disappointing that the season is out…

[마이데일리 = 이현호 기자] Donny van de Beek (25, Manchester United) came out of the operating room and smiled.

Van de Beek said on personal social media (SNS) on the 14th (Korean time), “I am the only one who has already finished this season. “I’m really disappointed,” he said. “Still, the surgery was successfully completed. Now, I will focus on rehabilitation and return to Manchester United with a stronger appearance. Thank you for the numerous messages of support. It was a source of strength for me and my family,” he wrote in his greeting.

Under the post, Manchester United teammates such as David de Gea, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandez, Scott McTominay, Christian Eriksen and Harry Maguire left comments of support. Dutch teammates Frankie De Jong and Denzel Doomfries also supported Van de Beek.

Van de Beek left the field after injuring his knee in an opponent’s sliding tackle at the end of the first half against Bournemouth at Old Trafford on the 4th. Aware of the seriousness of his injury, he covered his face with both hands and headed to the locker room. Manchester United home fans comforted him with applause.

As a result of the examination, I was faced with a situation where surgery was unavoidable. On the 13th, the Manchester United club said, “The condition of Van de Beek is serious. I can’t handle the rest of my schedule. The remainder of this season will be dedicated to surgery and rehabilitation.”

Manchester United manager Eric ten Haag said: “It is sad news that Van de Beek has left the team. But I believe in Van de Beek. I’m sure he’ll make a good recovery and get back to his old skills. I will return when the pre-season prepares for the 2023-24 season.”
