Chinese wine arrives in Switzerland

Lovers of white, rosé and red, note these names: Jade Dove White, Jiayuan Marselan or Hong Fang Yin Malbec. These Chinese wines and many others from the Ningxia region (northern China) are now available in Switzerland. The initiative goes to Zurich’s Michel Girod and his partner Ting Zhang who launched Vidivinum, an online sales platform specializing in nectars from the Middle Empire. Located rather at the top of the range, the prices of the bottles vary between 29.90 to 79.90 francs. “I discovered China and its wine sector twelve years ago and I fell in love with it, says Michel Girod during a tasting session on Friday in Lausanne. Our goal is to make Chinese wine known in Switzerland, and ours to wine lovers in China.”
