While Elden Ring continues to lead the top sales for several weeks, other companies take advantage of wanting to trick players using images from the FromSoftware title to promote their works. That was the case with the Chinese study called Guiyun Cloud Networkwho wanted to get away with it.
Daniel Ahmad, an analyst in the video game industry, made this curious video game go viral that appeared in a Chinese application store. In the photographs you can see scenes from Elden Ring but with a mobile interface and in this way, convince users who come across the ad that they would be downloading a mobile version of FromSoftware’s game.

However, it is all a scam. Since if you download the game, when you enter, you will find an MMO for mobile phones that has nothing to do with what is presented in the images. Believe it or not, this practice has been going on for some time within some Chinese developers, who, taking advantage of legal loopholes, illegally use photographs of popular games to deceive people. In worse scenarios, they even copy all the aesthetics, user interface, characters, among other details.
The Chinese video game was removed
After going viral, it didn’t take long for it to disappear from Chinese app stores. It is likely that many have noticed that it was a scam, so they proceeded to report the video game.

Remember that when it comes to mobile versions of a title that is breaking it on consoles or PC, you should check before downloading that the game in question is distributed by the company in charge of the original version.
Video game scams are not only lurking on cell phones, there are cases of mysterious “studies” that use platforms such as the Xbox digital store to launch supposed versions of popular games, as happened with Free Fire, which appeared to be “purchased” on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
