Hangzhou Net Release time: 2023-10-28 07:10
On October 27, the table tennis event of the 4th Asian Para Games in Hangzhou ushered in the finals of men’s and women’s doubles events at multiple levels. China won two gold medals in women’s doubles and silver in men’s doubles.
The schedule of the day was quite tight. Several Chinese combinations performed well in the morning semi-finals and successfully reached the finals. Among them, the Chinese combination Zhang Bian/Zhou Ying finally defeated their teammates Gu Xiaodan/Pan Jiamin 3-1 and won the gold medal in the women’s table tennis doubles WD10. Chinese combination Zhao Xiaojing/Xiong Guiyan defeated Chinese Taipei combination Lin Ziyu/Tian Xiaowen 3-2 and won the women’s doubles WD20 gold medal.
It was particularly difficult for Zhao Xiaojing and Xiong Guiyan to win this gold medal. In the first three games, the pair, who were 19 years apart in age, fell behind 1-2; then they withstood the pressure and played steadily, saving multiple match points in the fourth game and finally coming back to win.
After the game, Zhao Xiaojing summarized the two key factors that enabled her to turn defeat into victory: “First, I feel that at critical moments, I am more firm in executing my techniques and tactics. My partner also knows what I am going to do next, and my hands are not weak. I can handle it more decisively. I can’t.” Be conservative and smash when you have the chance. Second, we have always maintained a stable mentality.”
In other finals on the day, several combinations of the Chinese team won silver medals: Cao Ningning/Feng Panfeng won the silver medal in the men’s doubles MD8; Liao Keli/Yan Shuo won the silver medal in the men’s doubles MD14; Xiong Guiyan/Lian Hao won the silver medal in the mixed doubles XD17-20.
On October 28, the table tennis event will usher in the last competition day. There will be a total of 7 finals, and the Chinese team will compete in 4 games. Among them, the men’s singles champion Zhao Shuai/Lian Hao will compete for the gold medal in the men’s doubles MD18, and the youngest women’s combination Huang Wenjuan/Jin Yucheng will also strive to win the gold medal in the women’s doubles WD14. The two pairs performed well in the semi-finals on the followingnoon of the 27th and both maintained good competition conditions.
