Chinese Students Develop ‘Coat’ That Disappears From CCTV | Chinese students have developed a ‘coat’ that can disappear from CCTV

A group of graduate students in China have come up with a shocking claim. They reveal that they have developed an ‘invisibility suit’ that makes the human body disappear from security cameras. The overcoat can be worn day or night, even hiding the human body from artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled security cameras.

The name of the suit is InvisDefense coat. The coat can be seen by the human eye, but the coat is constructed in such a way that it is covered in a pattern that can blind cameras.

Miraculous Clothing uses two techniques to make the human body invisible to cameras. Customized prints will help the coat avoid capturing camera eyes during the day. Meanwhile, the coat emits unusual heat signals at night to confuse human-recognition cameras through infrared thermal imaging.

The project was overseen by Professor Wang Zheng of Wuhan University’s School of Computer Science. “Nowadays, many surveillance devices can easily recognize human bodies. Road cameras also have pedestrian recognition systems. Smart cars can recognize pedestrians as well as roads and obstacles. Our InVisDefense will allow the camera to capture you, but it cannot recognize whether you are human,” -Professor Wang was quoted by the South China Morning Post as saying. The report says.

The InvisDefense Coat costs just under $70. “The Invis Defense may be effectively used in battlefield anti-drone combat or man-machine combat,” Professor Wang added.
