On August 16, the Chinese sports delegation was established in Beijing, with Cheng Kai, Chairman of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation, as the head of the delegation, and Zhou Changkui, Secretary of the Party Group and Chairman of the Board, as the executive head of the delegation. The total number of the delegation is 516, including 284 athletes. All athletes are amateurs, with occupations including workers, farmers, students, civil servants, etc. Among them, 189 have participated in the Paralympic Games, and 95 are participating in the Paralympic Games for the first time.
According to reports, the delegation will participate in 302 events in 19 major events including archery, athletics, badminton, boccia, canoeing, cycling, and blind football at this Paralympic Games.
It is understood that this Paralympic Games will have 22 major events and 549 minor events, and 4,400 athletes from about 160 countries and regions will participate. This is the 11th time that my country has sent a delegation to participate in the Summer Paralympic Games.
