Riyadh | Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Saudi Arabia for a three-day visit. Xi Jinping will attend China-Arab and China-GCC summits. The world is looking forward to the Saudi-China summit in which Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will participate under the leadership of King Salman and the Chinese President. This is also Xi’s first trip to Saudi Arabia since 2016. Xi Jinping will also meet with Saudi King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and leaders of the GCC countries. The Saudi News Agency reported that the two countries will sign more than 20 contracts worth $30 billion.

Saudi Arabia is China’s largest trading partner in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and a global supplier of crude oil. Last year, 17 percent of Chinese oil imports came from Saudi Arabia. China, the world’s largest energy consumer, is also a major trading partner for Gulf oil and gas producers.
