Chinese PM congratulates 2022 World New Energy Vehicle Congress

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Saturday sent a congratulatory letter to the 2022 World New Energy Vehicle Congress, which is being held in Beijing and Hainan both online and offline.

China is a major automobile producer and consumer, Li said in his letter, noting that the country’s new energy vehicle (NEV) industry has seen rapid development in recent years, with production, vehicle sales and inventories ranked among the top in the world.

As the world’s largest developing country, China should develop broad international cooperation, whether to tackle climate change or promote green and low-carbon industries, Li said.

For a long time, China has carried out exchanges and cooperation with countries that have a head start in the automotive industry in equipment, technology and industrial standards, Li said, adding that this has helped to utilize various complementary advantages and promote common upgrading and development of the industry.

“Our support policies for the VEN industry are in line with international rules, and we treat China-registered VEN companies on an equal footing,” Li said.

He also said that China will continue to deepen cooperation in relevant VEN sectors with outreach efforts, promote industry growth and inject new impetus into the global sustainable development of economy and society. society.

The World New Energy Vehicle Congress 2022 is held from August 26 to 28. The congress includes more than 20 conferences, technological exhibitions and several concurrent events.
