Japanese media pointed out that recently, a large number of people from mainland China went to Tokyo Bay at night, carrying tools and secretly fishing for large numbers of swimming crabs, causing trouble to local fishermen. If you search for “Japan’s sea fishing” on Xiaohongshu, a well-known social media in mainland China, you can also see many mainland netizens sharing instructions on catching seafood and making dishes in Japan, setting off a trend. Japanese fishermen can only appeal helplessly now, hoping that mainlanders will not disturb their working places.

“TV Asahi” reported that influenced by social media, many mainland people have recently flocked to the coast of Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture to fish for swimming crabs. Kisarazu fishermen recently discovered a tattered gill net in the corner of the fishing port. The president of the Fisheries Association pointed out that local fishermen do not use this kind of fishing net, and that it was set up by outsiders who trespassed on the local coast and behaved badly.

The report pointed out that these foreigners are mainly Chinese nationals living in Japan. Their target is the swimming crabs that are abundant on the Kisarazu coast. Tomoko Itakura, the owner of “Fishing House”, a direct sales center sold by Kisarazu local products, pointed out that fresh swimming crabs caught locally are very popular, and many people will call to place orders. If someone comes to fish in large quantities, they will face the dilemma of having no crabs to sell.

A reporter from “TV Asahi” actually visited the area and found that the Chinese warning slogan “No entering the sea without permission” was posted on the fence along the seaside. Although the beach is deserted during the day, you can see many people walking into the sea at night, throwing nets, or holding flashlights to shine on the sea and using clamps to pick up crab-like objects. The report pointed out that using fishing nets or traps to catch crabs is an infringement of fishing rights.

The president of the local fishermen’s association actually met a mainlander when he patrolled the coast at night. He was holding a large cage filled with crabs. He claimed that he wanted to cook all the crabs for himself and did not know that entry was prohibited. The president of the local fishermen’s association in Kisarazu pointed out that many mainland people learned regarding crab fishing in Kisarajin through social media.

The “Little Red Book” was actually confirmed. Many posts indeed shared their experiences of catching crabs in Kisarazu. Some netizens even introduced recipes such as fried spicy crabs and crab porridge, which attracted attention. In the face of such a trend, the president of the Fishermen’s Association reluctantly pointed out, “I hope they will not invade our lives and cause destruction in our workplace.”
