Chinese customs confiscated a batch of 5.8 thousand video cards at the border | news

The Chinese customs service seized a batch of 5.8 thousand Radeon video cards when it was imported into the country. This was reported by the portal VideoCardz with reference to the Chinese social network Weibo.

The batch was produced by the American company XFX. The reason for the confiscation of the batch was incorrect data on the packages. According to customs representatives, violators tried to introduce productive models, passing them off as less powerful ones. This would allow them to reduce import duties and make a big profit on resale.

It is not officially known whether XFX is directly involved in this violation. However, after the incident at the border, the company’s Chinese website went down, and the American manufacturer’s brand store at the T-mall retail site was also closed.
