Chinese automobile group Dongfeng Automobile, China National Railway Group, and Chinese steelmaker Angang Group each donated 20 million yuan through their own foundation. Victims of the Sichuan earthquake are increasing rapidly. According to China Central Television (CCTV), a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County, Gantzjiang Autonomous Prefecture on the 5th, killing 82 people and missing 35 people as of 8 am (local time) on the 8th. About 270 people were injured, four of them said to be life-threatening.
Rescue authorities dispatched more than 6,600 rescue workers to the scene and evacuated 11,200 people to a safe place. It is said that all 232 people who were isolated in Hailugou Glacier Forest Park because the only road connected to the outside was cut off due to a landslide were rescued and moved to a safe area.
